Our Story

In 2020 Ron and Shelley Mayert became the owners of Time Family of Wines and have injected new energy into the winery with many more exciting plans currently in development. Well positioned to ensure growth of the established business and reputation which has been carried by the McWatters family for decades, the Mayerts have brought new perspective and opportunity to the Time Family portfolio of brands; Evolve Cellars and McWatters Collection as well as newcomer Chronos.

British Columbians through and through, Ron was born and raised on orchards in Summerland and Shelley on a farm in the Fraser Valley, the couple now live in Abbotsford with their family. These strong BC roots are just one of the reasons why the Mayerts are so passionate about the region, celebrating its spirit and warm hospitality from the people in the Okanagan Valley and want to instill that spirit in everything they do.

Our winemaker’s philosophy is to take a ‘less is more’ approach and ensure we are producing the highest quality wines showcasing the lush beauty of the Okanagan Valley’s bounty. Lynzee Schatz, Winemaker at Time Family of Wines; and her team, stay close to their goal of producing wines as reflective of their variety as possible. Each brand in our portfolio – Chronos, Evolve Cellars and McWatters Collection – is generous, balanced and poised, showing luxurious textures and depth of flavour in every pour.

Our Commitment to Quality

Our winery has the incredible opportunity to be a part of the Barrelwise program – a system designed to assist in producing the highest quality wines on the market today. In using this system it allows us to reduce waste, save time and ultimately put truly the best wines into the bottle and onto your table.

Barrelwise was founded in 2018 to help monitor, analyze and improve overall wine quality and control. Based in Vancouver, Barrelwise’s technology is used in wineries across B.C., Washington and Californi.

This technology gives us a clear view of barrel health in a timely manner for the first time ever in winemaking history at the rate of 8 seconds per test. For larger sized wineries, this is an incredible timesaving venture allowing the cellar team to have a much more detailed view into their barrel lots.
